Novelist Tom Barbash with Sacramento writer Shelley Blanton-Stroud with readings from Tom’s new bestselling novel The Dakota Winters and Shelley’s short story “Attention Must Be Paid.”

National Book Award finalist Karen E Bender with a reading from her new short story collection The New Order. With Sacramento writer Valerie Fioravanti (Garbage Night at the Opera) and a reading from her new short story collection. 


Friday, March 22

Bay Area novelist Sarah Stone with a reading from her new novel Hungry  Ghost Theatre, with Sacramento writer and playwright Tim Foley and his short story “Nineteen-Sixty-Five Ford Falcon.

Friday, April 26

Poet and novelist Devi Laskar with a reading from her debut novel The Atlas of Reds and Blues. With poet, novelist, and UCLA professor Fred D’Aguiar and a reading from his novel Children of Paradise.

Friday, May 31

Sharma Shields is back with a reading from her new novel The Cassandra, a retelling of the myth of the seer Cassandra as a young woman with extraordinary powers who works at a top secret research facility during WWII and is tormented by visions of what the mission will mean for humankindSharma previously appeared at Stories on Stage Sacramento in 2015 for a reading from her delightful novel The Sasquatch Hunter’s Almanac.
